Now Hiring: Summer Design Intern

Written by Christina S | Apr 7, 2017 7:10:11 PM

Are you a meticulous designer with a passion for the research that contributes to great design? Feel like spending your summer learning more about human factors in a company of awesome people (and the occasional dog)?

Design Science is looking to hire a full-time summer intern to join our design department from June-August! (This timing is moderately flexible based on your availability.) The position is paid and you have to be willing to work a full work week.

We have found that our most successful interns have excellent problem-solving skills. A lot of our work is turning research into something beautiful and easy to understand, which requires critical thinking. Please make sure to highlight your process and design thinking in your portfolio submission.

Many of our clients are medical device manufacturers, so you may occasionally be dealing with photos of blood/guts/etc. so it’s best if you’re not squeamish! While with us, you’ll learn more about human factors, information design, usability studies, and field research (though you won’t be able to participate in field research as an intern).

If you’re interested in joining us for the summer, please email your resume, cover letter, and portfolio to Christina Stefan at christinas@dscience.com. Please send your materials by the end of April—but the sooner the better. Once we meet a candidate we like and who likes us, we’ll likely go ahead and offer them the position.

We’re looking forward to meeting you!
