Managing a chronic condition is life changing not only for the patient, but also for their family, friends, and beyond. As we have built relationships with individuals, groups, and foundations across the country, we have seen the value of being a part of an active community that works together to stay strong in the face of adversity.
For today’s Larry and Ziggy show, we are thrilled to partner with Mariah from Mariah’s Movers to bring awareness to World Arthritis day. According to the Arthritis Foundation, “‘arthritis’ is not a single disease; it is an informal way of referring to joint pain or joint disease. There are more than 100 different types of arthritis and related conditions. People of all ages, sexes and races can and do have arthritis, and it is the leading cause of disability in America. More than 50 million adults and 300,000 children have some type of arthritis.”
Mariah, along with her mom, Tory, started their group to connect families near and far who are managing Juvenile Arthritis. Her story and perspective is truly inspirational! Managing a chronic condition is never easy. Mariah’s joy and tenacity reminds us all to push through even in the most difficult times.
Thanks Mariah and Tory, and thanks to all of our partners within the Arthritis community! We support you and value the opportunity to partner with you on this World Arthritis Day.
