The conference, taking place Nov. 6-8 in Tampa, FL, will feature product development and usability experts discussing their work in the healthcare space. The final day of the conference will be a one-day workshop hosted by the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
Design Science founder and principal, Stephen Wilcox, PhD, FIDSA, and Director of Videography and Data Management, Carmella Lee, will conduct a workshop exploring the use of ethnographic research in the operating room. During the workshop, Dr. Wilcox and Ms. Lee will introduce attendees to the theoretical, practical, and technical methods that Design Science uses to navigate the intricate cultural space of the operating room.
Dr. Wilcox will also examine the relationship between the healthcare industry and general technological development in his presentation, The Future of Healthcare and What it Means for the Role of Industrial Designers. After discussing changes in the industry over the past 30 years, Dr. Wilcox will explore current and future technological trends for a peek at what the next 30 years might look like.
