World Diabetes Day 2018 (video)

Did you know that diabetes is on the rise? The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that the disease now affects 422 million adults around the globe. In the United States, more than 100 million adults live with diabetes or prediabetes, according to a recent report by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Diabetes is a wide-ranging condition that poses serious health risks. There are also significant consequences for the family and friends who care for diabetics.

At Design Science, we understand diabetes’ impact on people. Many of our studies examine medical devices designed to help people manage the disease. We reach out to people from the diabetes community, including diabetics, caregivers, and healthcare practitioners. But our focus is not only research. Diabetics are an integral part of our team at Design Science and many of us have friends and family with diabetes.

For World Diabetes Day, we created a short video featuring those of us affected by the chronic disease.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us improve the lives of those affected by diabetes.
